Following his sudden split with Trivium, drummer Nick Augusto has made a few posts to Twitter regarding the situation:
Thank you so much to all the fans, support throughout the years. This was not my decision but eternally grateful
Thank you ALL for the messages and kind words! New musical adventures will be happening soon. This is not the end.
Hopefully there isn’t any bad blood or anything between Augusto and his former bandmates, but at least everyone appears to be going about this professionally. Meanwhile, on Paolo Gregoletto’s post regarding Augusto’s departure, a familiar face commented: Travis Smith, Trivium’s original drummer who Augusto replaced. Smith posted the following:
I’m still available 😉
Naturally, long-time Trivium fans jumped on Smith’s comment in hopes that he might replace his, er, replacement. Trivium responded to Smith as well:
This would indicate that both Smith and Trivium were just joking around, but if fans weren’t hoping for Smith to return before, they sure are now.
