For the longest time, the classic albums of Ozzy Era Black Sabbath were missing from iTunes. The only albums you could find with Ozzy were the live album Reunion and most recently 13. But that’s all over now; The Complete Studio Albums 1970-1978, available altogether or separately, are on and mastered for iTunes. This, of course includes all albums from Black Sabbath through Never Say Die! Also two compilations, We Sold Our Soul For Rock N’ Roll and Greatest Hits 1970-1978, have become available.
Members of Sabbath have commented on the release:
“It’s about fucking time the first eight Black Sabbath albums were made available on iTunes in the U.S.,” said Ozzy Osbourne.
“Great news, been a long time trying to explain to fans why the music wasn’t available,” Tony Iommi commented.
“It’s going to be great to finally have the catalogue accessible on iTunes,” Geezer Butler notes.
It’s great that the classic material is now available, especially for those who swear by iTunes. That said, you know there has to be some young aspiring metalhead somewhere who’s going to see Master of Reality pop up under recommendations and wonder “Who is this Black Sabbath?” Well, better late than never. While you won’t have to sell your soul for Rock N’ Roll, you will have to lay down $59.99 for the complete studio albums.
