Over the past several days, rumors that former Suffokate vocalist Ricky Hoover was joining Suicide Silence had reached a fever pitch. According to this message board, a member of Evergreen Terrace sparked the rumor of the possibility while speaking at a show this past weekend. Before long, “Ricky Hoover Suicide Silence” was one of the most-searched items on our site. Late yesterday, however, Hoover himself squashed the rumors via Twitter:

“Don’t believe what you hear #it’snotme,” one tweet stated, linking to an image that said “Rumors are just rumors lol.” A second tweet simply said “I am not in a band.” Hoover performed with the other members of Suicide Silence at the memorial show following the death of their vocalist, Mitch Lucker. Hoover and Suffokate parted ways last May. Lucker died in a motorcycle accident this past November, and with the exception of the memorial show, the remaining members of Suicide Silence have laid low.
