Why should major label bands be the only ones who get love?Unsigned & Streamed is a column where we stream a song from an unsigned band we at Metal Insider really dig.

This week, we’re excited to give some exposure to California’s Abriel. Formed in 2008, this female fronted four piece band has been making quite a name for themselves around the world. They’ve previously shared the stage with bands like As I Lay Dying, The Faceless, All Shall Perish, Bleeding Through, The Devil Wears Prada and countless of others, and have also performed the California Metalfest’s mainstage in 2010 and 2011. In 2011, the band digitally re-released their debut album This Will Swallow You Whole via Island Def Jam Music through a one-year distribution deal (don’t worry, though, they are currently unsigned). Abriel’s sound is a refreshing blend of deathcore and pop elements, reminding us of bands like iwrestledabearonce and Chimaira. So without further ado, take a listen to the song “Natalie Vs. Pedobear” in the stream below.

Abriel will be recording their sophomore album in LA this Summer with producer David Julson-Rieley (Kelly Clarkson, Usher). The plan is then to tour this Summer and Fall in support of the album, which will also serve as the soundtrack to a film Abriel will appear in. You can listen to more music and keep up to date on Abriel via Facebook.

If you’re in an unsigned band and would like to participate in Unsigned & Streamed, email a link to your band’s music and a brief bio to tips [at] metalinsider.com for consideration.
