By now you’ve heard Vinnie Paul saying that in the unlikely event of a Pantera reunion, he’d have Zakk Wylde fill in for his late brother Dimebag Darrell. While Vinnie Paul was quick to say it would never happen, it’s still caused quite a buzz online. And now the Black Label Society frontman may have added more fuel to the fire.
In an interview with Billboard, Wylde said the following about Paul’s suggestion:
“I love all those guys. It would be an honor. How could I say no? I’d do my best to make them proud.”
Despite Wylde’s apparent willingness to fill in for Dimebag, it’s still never going to happen (at least not in the foreseeable future). In addition to Vinnie Paul, both Philip Anselmo and Rex Brown have shot down such a suggestion. In addition, Anselmo even recently told WGRD 97.9 FM that he’d have to sit down with Wylde as well and “hash some crap out” as well before he can consider anything. Thus, if you’re hoping that one day the remaining members of Pantera will perform with Wylde, don’t hold your breath.
