Earlier today, Vobeat announced plans to tour North America this Summer. Joining the Danish rockabilly metal group will be Hellyeah and Iced Earth.
Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer had the following to say about the tour:
“I’m completely stoked, Volbeat is one of my all-time favorite bands, and Michael and the boys are great people. There is a lot of mutual respect and admiration, and I think we are in for a hell of a good time! This will be a package that won’t soon be forgotten, I’m sure of that. I want to thank VOLBEAT for the invitation, and I look forward to many years of laying down the metal as both bands continue to grow and reach new audiences around the world.”
On the one hand, it’s not too surprising that Volbeat and Iced Earth would eventually tour together considering Schaffer and Michael Poulsen’s friendship. And Volbeat and Hellyeah (who is on the road with Clutch right now) touring together also makes sense. However, all three bands together on the same bill certainly makes for a diverse tour package.
