Ever since Jonathan Miller left DevilDriver a year ago, tour manager/former Bury Your Dead bassist Aaron “Bubble” Patrick has been filling in. However, DevilDriver’s new man on bass is unfortunately having his own health scare.
It was revealed yesterday that Patrick had been hospitalized with pneumonia. At the moment, he is undergoing tests to determine how serious it is. DevilDriver frontman Dez Fafara tweeted the following yesterday:
“Prayers go out to @bubble_cxcb Bass Player for DevilDriver who’s battling pneumonia/2nd Day in the Hospital on Oxygen/More Tests pending/ Filling in for a few shows will be Chris Towning. Get well Bubs. REST IS KEY AND YOU BEEN RUNNING.”
Sadly, Patrick will be forced to miss the first few shows of DevilDriver’s headlining slot on the Metal Alliance Tour, which kicks off on Thursday (March 15) in Austin, TX. Fortunately, though, Patrick’s former Bury Your Dead bandmate Chris Towning will be filling in. It’s unclear when Patrick will be able to meet back up with his bandmates on the road, but we’re hoping for the best.
