As we’ve noted many times before, White Wizzard have gone through more lineup changes in two years than most bands do in their whole careers. And earlier today, the band confirmed that 19 year old virtuoso guitarist Jake Dreyer has joined them as their new second guitarist. Dreyer spoke about his new gig first to Metal Insider, saying the following:
“I am extremely excited to be a part of White Wizzard! I have been a fan of theirs since the “GTO” ep came out in 2009. Cannot wait to get out on the road and tear it up on the Frets of Fury tour in October! Just want to say thanks to all the guys in the band and especially Jon Leon and Cory Nagatoshi for getting me prepped for the upcoming dates. See ya out on the road!”
White Wizzard themselves had the following to say about the new addition via Facebook:
“White Wizzard is VERY happy and proud to welcome the amazing Jake Dreyer into the 2nd guitar spot in the band. You can see his site at www.jakedreyer.com……he is a great guy and fantastic talent. Lewis Stephens has toured with us over the last year and we wish him well on his new engagement and life in Wales. We now have a permanent final member and look forward to slaying you in the next few months.”
Though we’ve pretty much lost count as to how many members have been in an out of the band now, White Wizzard have picked up a pretty talented guitarist. Though only 19 years old, Dreyer has won several awards for best guitarist of the year. He recently released his first solo instrumental record, and was originally set to join Jag Panzer before the band ultimately decided to disband. You can learn more about Dreyer in an interview we did with him this past Summer.
As mentioned before, Dreyer will be making his first appearance with the group on the Frets Of Fury tour with Firewind, Arsis, and Nightrage this Fall.
