An update on the long-awaited Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne biopic has been made, with an actor now selected to portray Ozzy Osbourne. The update came from Ozzy’s son, Jack Osbourne, during a recent appearance on Influenced, the SiriusXM show hosted by Billy Morrison. According to Jack, the project has entered a new phase of development after six years of development at Sony.

While the identity of the actor remains under wraps, Jack confirmed that the role has been cast, describing the choice as a “phenomenal” actor. A director is attached, and the script is currently undergoing another rewrite.
The film is being produced by Sharon Osbourne, along with Jack and Aimée Osbourne, through Osbourne Media, in association with PolyGram Entertainment, with Sony overseeing development.

Jack stated the following:

“We have our decided pick, and I can’t say anything [yet], but it’s a phenomenal, phenomenal actor. We have a director attached, and we’re doing a rewrite right now.”
