Album: Mirror’s Edge EP

Key Points: Australian metal outfit Northlane’s upcoming EP, Mirror’s Edge, marks the group’s first release since 2022’s full-length offering, Obsidian. Recorded with producer Will Putney, the EP moves more like a nostalgic piece or as, Jon Deiley (songwriter/guitarist) stated, “greatest hits of Northlane’s sounds.” The band has previously shared a video for “Dante” and, most recently, a visualizer for “Miasma,” featuring Winston McCall from Parkway Drive.  Pre-order Mirror’s Edge here

Album: Untouched by Fire (Prophecy Productions)

Release Date: April 26

Key Points: UK melodic doom metal outfit Arð is set for his sophomore album, Untouched by Fire. The follow-up to 2022’s Take Up My Bones, moves as a narration, as the press release explained: “Arð narrate the tale of another Northern saint, the Anglo-Saxon warrior-king Oswald, also called Whiteblade, who united the lands of Bernicia and Deira, and reigned over the thus newly created Kingdom of Northumbria between the years 633 and 642.” Video available of the first single, “Cursed To Nothing But Patience.”
