Paws, Pets & Metal is Metal Insider’s newest column on bands with pets, discovering who watches them on the road, and more. Get to know more about these metal furbabies. We caught up with Rockin’ Engine guitarist Ste Vy Leff reveals his dog barks out to Rockin’ Engine’s “Broken Angel.”
Tell us more about your pet(s) and their names?
Ste Vy Leff’s little girl’s name is “Nala”. Yes from the Lion King… the wife chose the name. She is a Fox Red Labrador, bred in the Outaouais region close to Wakefield. She has been part of the family for ten years and she still has an overload of energy.
Have you ever taken your pet on tour?
Starting to tour now wouldn’t be the best situation for a dog. Being at the all-star level I would bring her along but again I believe she would be lonelier this way.
Who looks after your pet while on the road?
The family would be looking after her. My wife and kids, she has all the attention required.
What’s your pet’s favorite song or album?
Broken Angel from Rockin’ Engine.
How did you introduce your pet to metal?
I always listened to metal. Bringing Nala into my home, it was inevitable she would be exposed to metal music especially in the car, going on a road trip for a few hours she would have many hours of listening and overhearing singing in the front.
What animal charity means most to you?
I don’t really have a favorite, but I do support my local animal Shelter SPCA de l’Outaouais.
