Megadeth successfully settled with artist Brent Elliot White following a legal battle. In February, White filed a lawsuit against the band and Universal Music Group, claiming non-payment and lack of credit for his work on the cover of their latest album, The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the parties involved have reached an amicable resolution.

The lawsuit revolved around New York-based illustrator and designer Brent Elliott White, who alleged he had not received payment for numerous hours of work and that he retained copyright ownership of the artwork due to an unfinished contract. White also asserted that his art was featured in Rolling Stone without proper credit and licensed to third parties for merchandise without his consent.

In a joint notice of settlement filed on Thursday, the parties informed the court of their agreement in principle to resolve the dispute. They plan to file a stipulation of dismissal within the next 30 days. White’s attorney, Matthew Cave of Kibler Fowler & Cave, confirmed the amicable resolution of the matter.

Universal Music Group has not yet provided a comment in response to the settlement.
