The Foo Fighters have announced a batch of tour dates featuring none other than Motörhead as openers, along with Biffy Clyro. It is presently unclear as to whether Motörhead will be opening for Dave Grohl and company on more dates. A pre-sale for the five U.S. dates announced so far starts Wednesday (March 16) at 10am (with the password being WASTING), while tickets go on sale to the public on March 18.
It’s no secret that Dave Grohl is a long time admirer of Motörhead. Both Grohl and Lemmy Kilmister have praised each other in the press countless of times. Grohl’s even gone as far as collaborating with Lemmy on Probot track “Shake Your Blood,” and more recently had the metal god featured in the Foo Fighters’ new video for “White Limo.” So even though the Foo Fighters might not be as metal as Lemmy and the gang (or not metal at all as many would argue), seeing the two on the road together isn’t too shocking. Regardless, this will be an awesome show for fans of both bands, and great exposure for Motörhead to a relatively new audience (even if it is only for five shows).
