Gwarsenio Hall, host of YouTube’s vastly under-appreciated Two Minutes to Late Night, has created another “stay at home” video with a cast of metal all-stars. These videos have all been great, but this one featuring Danzig’s “Snakes of Christ” is, perhaps, the apex of this stay at home series.
Not only does this lineup of completely tear this Danzig II classic apart – Old Man Gloom drummer Santos Montano does an amazing parody of Glenn Danzig’s (in)famous “Welcome to my book collection” bit from the Danzig I home video. It’s so spot-on.
Baroness guitarist Gina Gleason continues to demonstrate why she’s the best in the business, Jordan Olds (aka Gwarsenio Hall) shows us his best pipes as he channels a younger, more vocally agile Danzig, and John LaMacchia (Candiria) and Stella Leung (Potion) round out this virtual supergroup.
For of those too young to get the “Welcome to my book collection” reference at the beginning and end of this clip, here it is in all of its VHS glory:
And in case anyone is still wondering, original “Snakes of Christ” guitarist, John Christ, is definitely ready to rejoin Danzig.
