It’s been an interesting few months in the Korn camp. First, the band got a fill-in bassist for their South American tour that wasn’t even born until their seventh album came out. 12 year-old Tye Trujillo might have gotten the gig because his dad plays bass in Metallica, but it was a little mysterious that Fieldy had to sit out the several weeks due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Then the band postponed the majority of their touring in May, again for “unforeseen circumstances.” And while one of the few dates they kept, their Pointfest show, was also canceled due to Jonathan Davis’ voice issues, it seemed like something might be afoot with the band.

And while there haven’t been any lineup changes with Korn that we know of, there has been a management change. On Friday, it was announced that Velvet Hammer is managing the band. That gives them the same management team as Deftones and Alice in Chains, among others. It was less than a year ago that the band announced they were being managed by Jay Z’s Roc Nation. No news on what led to the change, but it’d be interesting to find out what the reasoning was.

In the meantime, the band have released a short video teaser. Instagram comments from fans suggest that it could be for “Black is the Soul, but there’s nothing official yet. We’ll find out soon enough.
