DragonForce have been a force to be reckoned with (derp) since before they first show up on America’s radar via the ridiculously over the top “Through the Fire and Flames” video. That track, from their third album, Inhuman Rampage, turned up on Guitar Hero III, and made them  heroes in their own right here. They made the jump to Metal Blade from Roadrunner for their last album, 2014’s Maximum Overload, and have just announced Reaching Into Infinity, their seventh studio album. To get people pumped for the album, out on May 19th, they released a track from it, “Judgment Day.”

No judgment here – if you like Dragonforce, you know what you’re in for. It’s another enjoyable shred-fest that sounds like a power ballad played at quadruple speed or the boss battle music for a video game. For the new album, the band recorded the album with Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Orebro, Sweden. It marks the first album with Gee Anzalone on drums, and he keeps up just fine.

Reaching Into Infinity will be released on May 19th on Metal Blade, and can be preordered here
