As we found out on November 8th, we’re a divided nation when it comes to politics. President-elect Donald Trump may have won a solid victory when it comes to the electoral college, but not only did he lose the popular vote by almost three million votes, but over half of people registered to vote didn’t vote for anyone. And while many in the arts have made it their goal to register their disapproval of our President-elect, he’s found a somewhat unlikely supporter: The Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan. Already an outspoken critic of Bernie Sanders, last year, he appeared on conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ Infowars show saying he had no respect for Trump protesters. He also compared social justice warriors to the KKK. Okay then.

Recently, he checked in with hometown WLUP/Chicago’s Mancow Morning Show. After the Trump dossier that was published by Buzzfeed that contained unverified facts, Corgan teed off on the media:

“If I just filter what I read through the media, which obviously yesterday was a watershed day with the media, if I just filter what I read through the media, I’m not really in touch with the world I grew up in. I know there’s a gap there.”

He then spoke about the interview that CNN’s Andersom Cooper did with Trump spokesperson Kellyanne Conway, calling it “one of the most embarrassing things I’ve ever seen from a journalist,” and stating that “it’s amazing watching the mainstream American media melt down before our eyes.” Corgan has begin a series, Thirty Days, which he describes as a “trip to see if hte American culture that I recognized as being a part of was still there.” The series includes the interview with Mancow, as captured on Facebook live. If you’re a fan of Corgan, The Pumpkins, or Trump, then you might enjoy this.
