Steely Danzig. It’s amazing that joke hasn’t been made before, and maybe it has, but not until recently was there a mash-up of the two artists. Writer and artist Demi Adejuyigbe did something about it by splicing together the music from Steely Dan’s “Dirty Work” with Danzig’s 1988 classic “Mother.” The end result, his “Tell Your Children Not To Do My Dirty Work,” shouldn’t work, and it ultimately doesn’t, but it’s still expertly assembled, with Danzig’s mournful, intimidating vocals mixing with the smooth soft-rock sounds of Becker and Fagan. Glenn should have a saxophone accompanying him more often. This is no ‘guy singing Smash Mouth over Evanescence,‘ but it’s still a great way to spend three minutes.
