One of the best things about Metallica’s “Hardwired,” which was unleashed upon an unsuspecting world yesterday, was the simplicity of it. It’s a three minute song, written in E, and has been immediately embraced by the metal community. And since we live in a world of on-demand and instant gratification, it should come as no surprise that the internet is already full of a bunch of covers. The chords and riffage aren’t all that hard to figure out, and some are even already nailing Kirk’s solo. There’s even tablature of the song online, so any aspiring guitarist can learn the first 3:18 of Hardwired… To Self Destruct. Here’s a sampling of how quickly the internet works:
