Dallas Taylor, original Underoath vocalist and frontman of Maylene & the Sons of Diaster, is currently unconscious in a Florida hospital after being involved in a serious ATV accident. Maylene’s Facebook page broke the news just before midnight, stating “Dallas was in a bad ATV accident today while visiting his family in Ocala. He was airlifted to a hospital and is in intensive care.” His brother Rhett stated that he wasn’t wearing a helmet and hit a sign, adding “it doesn’t look good.” He later gave an update that was slightly more encouraging:
And while it’s still very early, a Gofundme page has been launched to help with the medical bills. “Although we don’t currently know the magnitude of Dallas’ injuries, we do know they are extensive,” it says. ” He will be out of work and in the hospital for an unspecified amount of time. He will have a long painful recovery ahead of him and massive pile of medical bills.”
Taylor has released four albums with Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, and sang on the first three Underoath albums. Here’s hoping he’s ok. Wear a helmet.
