9.- Bay Area Death Fest – July 15th-17th

bay area death festIf you’re a fan of brutal death and other sorts of really heavy music, you should go to the bay area and attend the Bay Area Death Fest. Just like the name suggests, this festival consists mainly by death metal bands, from underground bands like Stages of Decomposition or Parasitic Ejaculation; to bigger names like Suffocation, Disgorge or Internal Bleeding. Even if you’re not into this kind of extreme metal, we can guarantee you’ll find something you like. Tickets can be purchased here.

10.-Riot Fest – September 2nd-4th, 16th-18th.

riot fest 2016A different kind of festival from the rest listed before is Riot Fest, which takes place in two different weekends and two different cities. Bringing music and madness to Denver, CO and Chicago, IL respectively, Riot Fest has their chops ready by bringing the classic Misfits line up with Glenn Danzig, Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein and Jerry Only, making it their first appearance together in 33 years. There are many other great acts but the list is too long to describe so we’ll let you decide on your own. Tickets can be found here.

11. -Hells Headbash – September 2nd-4th

hells headbash 2016We attended last year’s edition of Hells Headbash and we loved every single aspect of it. Held in Cleveland, OH, Hells Headbash will deliver their 3rd edition with another stellar lineup including bands like Angel Corpse, Profanatica, Grand Belial’s Key and Incantation just to name a few of the many great acts bringing some of the best black and death metal out there. 12.- High Elevation Festival – September 10th

high elevationThere are plenty of one-day festivals out there worth mentioning but this one has to stand out due to the heavy hitters they booked for the event. High Elevation Festival will take place in Denver, CO for one day only, which means they’ll be bringing the big guns and let them loose back to back. Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat, Pierce The Veil and Ministry are some of the top names on the bill but will be preceded by many other great acts that you will have the chance to catch in just one day. 13.-Shadow Woods Metal Fest – September 15th-18th

A multi-days camping festival in White Hall, MD accompanied by amazing live acts like the mysterious Ghost Bath, Mantar or Blood Storm sounds like the best plans you can make to receive the September equinox. 14.-Rock Allegiance Festival – September 17th-18th.

The festival will have a perfect balance between rock and metal bands with shows by Alice In Chains or The Offsprings, along with a high octane dosage of Slayer and Anthrax. revolution rock festival 2016Basically a smaller version of the Rock Allegiance above, Revolution Rock Fest will have some of the bands performing at the Chester festival but in Mashantucket, CT, bringing the same quality to more than one place on the same weekend. 16.- Ozzfest Meets Knotfest – September 24th-25th

ozzfestknotfest_638The great comeback of one of the original open air festivals in the US, Ozzy Osbourne decided to join forces with Slipknot to bring together Ozzfest Meets Knotfest. The festival will be held in two days, with the “Ozzfest” edition the first day and the “Knotfest” one the second day and each will be headlined by Black Sabbath and Slipknot respectively, along with a large set of excellent bands ready to rock Southern California.
