stpEveryone’s had an opinion on who should front Stone Temple Pilots since the death of founding frontman Scott Weiland. While Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington took the spotlight after Weiland departed the band, there’s been some rumors we may see Corey Taylor taking over. According to Rockfeed, STP is performing with Taylor at the Adopt the Arts Honors event on Thursday, May 12th – but does anyone seriously expect him to just perform once? It’s Corey Taylor. It’s well known he’s a fan, and unless he performs like Nick Jonas does with a guitar, we’d be willing to bet he’ll stick around. If you’re among the many who auditioned online, don’t freak out just yet. The band also released this statement:

“Hi everyone.

We wanted to once again thank all of those who took the time to submit. Thank you kindly.

Those of you that put forth your top 3 candidates and singer suggestions was a great help as well. Thank you for that.

With MANY hours clocked in behind the computer, the 3 of us have chosen and are auditioning some very talented people.

Auditions will start on April 18th.

We are thrilled to get in a room with each of these very talented individuals.

Let the good times roll.

Love,
Robert, Eric, Dean”

But we’ve got just one question amongst all this: where’s Peter Dolving?
