Earlier in December, the Grammys revealed their list of nominees, including those running for “Best Metal Performance” which boasts bands like Ghost, Lamb of God, August Burns Red, and Sevendust. Now, Canada’s version of the awards, the JUNO unveiled their list for “Heavy Metal Album of the Year” and the list of bands is really diverse on styles, running the gamut from the female-fronted hard rock of Diemonds, to Kataklysm’s death metal to the noise rock of KEN Mode. Really every nominated band is a different genre of metal. Well done, Juno Awards! The nominees are:

KEN mode – Success

Unlike the Grammys which has non-American nominees with Ghost, the JUNO awards have only Canadian bands and seeing they recognize grindcore, death metal and hard rock equally adds a good mix to the event.
The awards ceremony will be held on April 03rd in Calgary, Alberta.
