shocker

If you’re a bro, and let’s be honest, many of you have engaged in bro-like behavior over the years, you’re probably aware of the hand gesture known as “the shocker.” It ranks up there with Dane Cook’s “super finger” in terms of stupidity, and is essentially a sexual practice, for lack of a better description. It’s also something that Steven Tyler of Aerosmith did in the pre-ride video for their Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Or rather, used to do. 17 years after the ride originally debuted. Disney has digitally altered the video, and now instead of now making a gesture that went over the majority of riders’ heads, is now derpily waving. There’s no official word on why it’s been changed, but perhaps the genesis goes back to 2013, when Ultimate Orlando caught it. Tyler being Tyler, he probably knew that some bros would get it and it would be ignored by most. No comment from him yet, either.

Here’s the new version, via Orlando Now!
