We’ve heard “All That’s Left is Blood” and a snippet of another song. Now Chimaira has released a teaser video containing 30 seconds of each song off of the Cleveland based quintet’s seventh album, Crown Of Phantoms, due out on July 30 from eOne. The video also reveals the album artwork, which seems to be influenced by Sumerian carvings.
And needless to say, the previews sounds sick. The riffs are some of their heaviest and most technical so far, which can no doubt be partially attributed to the recent addition of guitar genius Emil Werstler of Daath, along with two other Daath alums (Jeremy Creamer on bass and Sean Zatorsky on keyboards, respectively). “Refined” is a good word for the bands revamped sound, which we discussed with Mark Hunter about earlier this year. If the thirty second snippets from the preview are not enough for you until the album drops in July, make sure to check out the already released video for single “All That’s Left is Blood” below.
