One of the high points of each of the last two Run the Jewels albums is when Rage Against the Machine’s Zach de la Rocha pops up for a guest verse. His appearances on “Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck)” and “Kill Your Masters” reminded many of how powerful and impassioned a vocalist he is. No offense to Prophets of Rage, but he’s missed. Last night in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium, de la Rocha joined the rap duo to perform both of the tracks. This is the second time in the last month that he’s joined RTJ onstage, as he turned up at the duo’s Washington D.C. show on the day before inauguration day to do the same. El-P is currently working on producing Zach’s solo debut. You can hear a track from it here.
