Talent – if you’ve got it, it doesn’t matter what your age is. Take 82 year-old John Hetlinger, who appeared on America’s Got Talent croaking along to Drowning Pool’s “Bodies” and got to sing it onstage with them as a result. And on the opposite end of the spectrum, look at Johanne Astrid, who just won it all on Denmark’s Got Talent. Only 10, she brought some fun and femininity into drumming, auditioning with a snare drum with flowers on it and playing Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing in the Name” with drumsticks with glowing tips (aside: between this and the song being played on kid’s instruments, it seems like RATM’s protest song is one Kidz Bop away from becoming a nursery rhyme).

Of course she advanced on, because what’s more adorable than a 10 year old blond girl. She moves on to the next round, playing Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” with a double kick pedal in full rock star attire, and finishing with a gong hit. It was impressive enough that John Bonham would likely approve and it moved her on to the grand final.  This time playing with a full band, she hangs tough with them, winning the whole competition.
