borderlandsWith the exception of perhaps Moonspell, Portugal isn’t necessarily well known in the States for it’s metal scene, but there’s a healthy and vibrant metal scene there. Progressive metalcore band Borderlands, who formed in Lisbon in 2012, have released an EP and a single so far, and on June 10th, the band will release their full-length album, Voice of the Voiceless.

The band are premiering the first video from the upcoming album, “Children of the Sun,” with us today. It’s a high quality video that mixes performance with some animation that looks like it’s straight out of a video game and should definitely expand their reach beyond Europe. Here’s what the band’s new vocalist, Rui Martins, says about Voice of the Voiceless:

This album is definitely stepping up our game, we’ve put a lot of effort into this and hope that everyone enjoys it and loves it as much as we do.

Voice of the Voiceless will be released on Friday, June 10. You can follow Borderlands on their Facebook and Twitter pages.
