Swedish post-metal collective Novarupta, led by The Moth Gatherer’s Alex Stjernfeldt, is gearing up for their new album Marine Snow, which will be released on November 13th via Suicide Records. The follow-up to 2018’s Disillusioned Fire marks the second installment in a series of four albums that conceptually focus on the elemental forces of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. Today (5th), the group has teamed up with Metal Insider for a video premiere of the third single “Trieste,” featuring vocals from former Ghost/ Magna Carta Cartel’s Martin Persner. The track is another taste of the album’s blackened sludge mixed with progressive metal and monochromatic psychedelia.

Stjernfeldt comments:

“The centrepiece of Marine Snow; the absolute descent. The bathyscaphe that will take you to The Challenger Deep, a place of constant pressure and unrelenting darkness! Martin Persner’s beautiful eerie and melancholic voice will guide you while descending. When he sent me the lyrics and vocals all the pieces came together. Summon your inner spirit of Jacques Piccard and enter the depths, though this time with no ascension.”
