The big game is coming up next Sunday, which means that even if you’re not interested in football in the least, you’ll at least hopefully have some entertaining commercials to watch. Acura unveiled theirs, and it’s a great one. It uses Van Halen’s “Running with the Devil,” to advertise the NSX. But if you haven’t spent any time on the internet, it’s a version of the song you’ve never heard before. In fact, the first 19 seconds of the 30-second spot is soundtracked by David Lee Roth alone, using the isolated vocals from the track. It’s an inventive and fun way to use the classic rock chestnut that kicks off Van Halen’s 1978 debut, and it’s making us want to pick up an Acura.
