04) Butcher Babies – “Yorktown”

The Butcher Babies are known for their heavy vocals and music, but with “Yorktown,” their single from earlier this year, this might be their most unique song to date. With electronica-like opening and vocals that mix screams with singing, add in a refrain that is entirely sung followed by cheerleading chants; the band has proven it can be diverse and heavy at the same time. Vocalists Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey demonstrate they have the chops to be versatile with their vocalizations. At the same time, Flury shows off his chops with his heavy guitar style. The band brought in Andy James (Five Finger Death Punch) to provide a massive guitar solo. Brickenden and Bonazza provide tremendous rhythmic support, which brings the song together. The song debuted on February 13, 2021, and there hasn’t been an official announcement on their next studio album just yet, but fans remain hopeful.
