If you listened to Ghost’s Popestar EP, you likely wondered who the female singing on “Missionary Man” and “Bible” was. That was Fia Kempe of fellow Swedish band The Great Discord, and if you were taken by her voice, you’ll be happy to know that the band will be releasing their sophomore album, The Rabbit Hole, in September. The album is, of course, based on Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland novels. The band explains:

“Friends! We are very excited to give you the first single, entitled ‘Darkest Day,’ off our coming album, The Rabbit Hole. As the titles reveal, this album is our take and our dark twist on a famous story by Lewis Carroll. Don’t worry, the story will unfold further as we go along and more songs and stories will see the light of day. Or not, depending on how you look at it. Stay vigilant!

For now, we invite you to join us on a journey into the stranger side of things, down in the rabbit hole. Get ready. More music will follow suit and the album will be released just as summer draws it’s dying breath.”

The band just wrapped up a handful of dates in Europe with Ghost and Kvelertak, and are set to play a week’s worth of dates with Katatonia and Ghost Bath. So essencially, they like Ghosts. Check out “Darkest Day” from the forthcoming album, and here’s where you’ll be able to catch them in Europe:
