While you’d expect Steve’n’ Seagulls to come from somewhere deep in the Appalachian mountains, they’re actually from Finland. Late last year, the acoustic band, which cover “hillbillified” versions of metal songs, signed with Spinefarm. And today, they’ve released a live cover of Metallica’s “Seek and Destroy.” Basically, imagine a band full of Rob Scallons, all virtuousos on their acoustic instruments, and taking the songs they’re covering very seriously. Sure, maybe they’re playing the song while having tea, and they could definitely us a talking to about their fashion sense, but  musically, the song both sounds loyal to the original and could make a bluegrass fan that never heard Metallica tap their toes in approval.

Here’s the track listing to Farm Machine, which will be out on May 12 on Spinefarm and can be ordered here:

“Grand Opening”
“Black Dog”
“Thunderstruck”
“The Trooper”
