Static-X are celebrating the recent accomplishment of their 1999 debut single “Push It.” The track has officially been certified Gold by the RIAA. The song is taken from the band’s iconic record, Wisconsin Death Trip, which was certified over a year ago.The band’s AI companion X-Bot recently announced via a humorous news broadcast that the song is “going platinum,” urging fans to keep streaming.
To mark the milestone, Warner Records released the classic “Push It” music video in high definition for the first time. Originally directed by Mick Olszewski, the surreal clay-animation video helped launch the band into the mainstream with early MTV support. Static-X will join Mudvayne this fall and have added six headline shows along the way in Green Bay, Detroit, Missoula, Hidalgo, Memphis, and Baltimore, with Dope supporting. The band will also appear at Louder Than Life and Aftershock festivals later this year. Tickets are available at this location.
Tony Campos comments on the song:
“It’s crazy how far this band has come in 25 years. Our fans are so incredible, and the streaming numbers are so consistent. At this point, the world would have to end for ‘PUSH IT’ not to go platinum.”
