Spinal Tap made their first late-night television appearance in over 15 years on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this past Monday (8). Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest), David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer) were joined by director Marty DiBergi (Rob Reiner), the fictional documentarian from This Is Spinal Tap, for an in-character interview and live performance.

The group discussed their upcoming sequel film Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, their songwriting process, hearing their music on the radio for the first time, and even their dream of knighthood. They also teased cameos from Elton John, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, and Trisha Yearwood on their new album, as well as their book Smell The Book. The fictional group closed with a performance of their classic track “Big Bottom.”Spinal Tap II: The End Continues hits theaters this Friday (12th).
