Symphonic metal outfit Sirenia are set to release their 11th studio album, 1977, out May 26, 2023, via Napalm Records. Once again, the group continues to combine new elements as this record merges 80s rock and synth-wave elements, giving listeners another surprise of what’s to come mixed with classic Sirenia elements. The first single from the album is a cover of Tanita Tikaram’s “Twist in my Sobriety,” which showcases the band’s multifaceted nature with a mix of symphonic, electronic, and groove elements. The album was produced by the band’s mastermind Morten Veland and mixed by HK at Vamacara Studio, France.

Veland comments:

“‘Twist in my Sobriety’ is the first single from our upcoming album entitled ‘1977’. This is the bonus track of our 11th album, and it is a cover version of Tanita Tikaram’s original from 1988. I have loved this song since it was released, and it has a very melancholic vibe to it, so it felt like an interesting project to make a SIRENIA version of it. I hope that you will enjoy it while we wait for the upcoming album release”
