scallonRob Scallon. Is there anything he can’t do? The YouTube musician has taken on Slayer on banjo, written songs using YouTube user comments as lyrics and had songs with one note. Now he’s turning to drums, or more accurately, midi-triggered electronic drums, to create a song on piano. The song, “Sunken Ships,” is actually kind of beautiful, even if it is created by playing blast beats on drums. And of course, it’s now available on iTunes. Watch him play it and come to your own conclusion, but we think it’s pretty cool, even if the resulting music isn’t particularly metal at all until you see that there were blast beat used when making it. It’s definitely the most best use of blast beats in non-metal since Billy Joel invented it.
