Some of the darkest and heaviest metal to ever come from the Mediterranean descended upon New York City’s Gramercy Theatre last night in the form of the Conquerors of the World Festival Tour 2014, “the fleshiest tour ever.” The full line-up was supposed to be Septicflesh, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Black Crown Initiate, and Necronomicon, but due to some unfortunate problems with the band’s van, Black Crown Initiate was unable to make it to the show.

When Fleshgod Apocalypse took the stage, the crowd was treated to all their brutal goodness; Fleshgod is a tech death cabaret to play out the end of the world that more than looks and sounds the part. Each member had a moment in the spotlight to highlight their talents, and they all impressed.

Fleshgod Apocalypse setlist:
– Temptation
– Hypocrisy
– Minotaur (The Wrath of Poseidon)
– The Deceit
– Requiem In Si Minore
– Elegy
– Kingborn (Intro)
– The Egoism
– Pathfinder
– The Violation
– The Forsaking

Septicflesh on the other hand was less showy and technical, but all auditory imagery. If traveling through the underworld had a soundtrack, these guys would be frontrunners to compose it. Clad in his faux-battle armor stage gear, vocalist Spiros “Seth” Antoniou looked ready to lead the crowd marching through hell and back, and surely they would have followed. Septicflesh is on tour supporting their brand new album, Titan, which is available for purchase here.

Septicflesh setlist:
– The Vampire from Nazareth
– Communion
– A Great Mass of Death
– Pyramid God
– Unbeliever
– Prototype
– Lovecraft’s Death
– Persepolis
– Anubis
– Five-Pointed Star

*Order of Dracul was also played

A death metal show is simply not complete without at least one wall of death, and luckily enough, we captured the one that Spiros enticed during the back end of their set. Check it out above.
