Refused release video for “Dawkins Christ”

Posted by on June 17, 2015

We had previously talked about Refused’s intention to chat with you with you about it but the Swedish band thinks you need more to embrace the “Dawkins Christ,”so they decided to reveal a new video for the song.

Drummer David Sandström explains the track:

The title [Dawkins Christ] refers to the famous biologist whose atheist theology has inspired a semi-cult who in turn sees him as a messianic figure, an irony that partly inspired the lyrics. The music draws from the film scores of Hans Zimmer and Ennio Morricone as well as pre-Reign in blood Slayer.

Freedom was produced by Nick Launay and is the first album from the band in 17 years and based on every track we’ve heard so far, it looks to be a promising one and definitely on your list of releases to get once it comes out on June 30th. Refused will tour in support of Freedom with Faith No More this summer at the following stops:
7/30 Atlanta, GA @ Masquerade Music Park
7/31 Raleigh, NC @ Red Hat Amphitheater
8/01 Philadelphia, PA @ Mann Center
8/02 Columbia, MD @ Merriweather Post Pavilion
8/04 Boston, MA @ Blue Hills Bank Pavilion
8/05 New York, NY @ Madison Square Garden
8/07 Toronto, ON @ Ricoh Coliseum
