Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” blasted over the White House speakers yesterday (16th). The song was an homage to former New York Yankees pitcher Mariano “Sandman” Rivera, which he used as his entrance theme song for years. Metallica even made an appearance at Yankee Stadium to perform the famous “black album” track when the pitcher officially retired his number (42). Therefore, it was the right choice to be used as the entrance music for Rivera as the famed pitcher entered the ceremony with current U.S President Donald Trump. Rivera was there to be presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. A video of this entrance can be found below, and before the song, you hear the announcement of “Number forty-two.”
