metallicasuperDespite our best efforts, Metallica isn’t quite playing the Super Bowl. However, they will be playing around the big game, at least. And like Sunday’s contest, they’ll have the opportunity to be seen live by millions of people around the world. The band have announced that their Saturday show at the AT&T Park in San Francisco will be broadcast in HD online at webcast.livemetallica.com (and below). The band’s “The Night Before” concert, being thrown in conjunction with CBS, will also be available digitally and on CD about one day after the 8:30 concert ends. You can preorder them here. Ulrich spoke about the show:

“We can’t wait to play our first show of 2016 and there’s nowhere we’d rather kick off the festivities than in our own backyard. Even though the show has been sold out for months, Metallica fans around the world will be able to join in on the madness.”

Cage the Elephant, who share management with Metallica, will open.
