This past weekend, many throughout the East Coast were prepared for Hurricane Irene. And on Saturday (August 27), Municipal Waste posted a “Channel 8 News Report” from Richman, VA online. In other words, the band filmed frontman Tony Foresta standing outside during the storm (since the band had to cut recording for their new album short due to the hurricane) and posted it online. You can watch Foresta’s hard hitting reporting in the video above.
Though it ended up being downgraded to a tropical storm relatively before hitting New York City, Irene still left its fair share of damage. Many areas across the East Coast experienced intense flooding and power outages. Irene is already being reported as “one of the most damaging storms to hit New Jersey in a century,” while other states along the East Coast are still feeling the after effects. One New Jersey resident affected by the flooding is Sebastian Bach, whose home was destroyed by Irene.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to those who have been effected by the storm this past weekend.
