Last night (19th), Linkin Park won the Favorite Artist: Alternative Rock award at the American Music Awards. The group dedicated the award to the late Chester Bennington, who took his own life on July 20th, 2017. Footage of their acceptance can be found below.
However, right after they picked up the award, they were booted from the awards show over some kind of credentials mixup, with the Los Angeles Police Department escorted the band out of the event. Mike Shinoda’s Instagram story has him explaining to an officer “we’re supposed to be here. In fact, we actually won an award!” Rockfeed grabbed the story, which you can see below:
