Linkin Park have officially returned, debuting their new single “The Emptiness Machine” live on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night (17th). This single is part of their upcoming album From Zero, set to release on November 15 via Warner, marking the band’s first full-length album since 2017’s One More Light, the last before the passing of their iconic frontman Chester Bennington.
The band kicked off their comeback mini-tour on September 11 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, showcasing a fresh lineup. New members, singer Emily Armstrong and drummer Colin Brittain have joined original members Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, and Brad Delson (temporarily replaced by guitarist Alex Feder for the tour). This tour includes a unique 360-degree stage setup. The band performed for two hours in front of an enthusiastic audience, bringing the energy fans have been craving.
On September 16, Linkin Park performed at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, continuing the tour’s momentum with another two-hour set. This time, the stage was designed to resemble an aircraft carrier, adding to the spectacle and allowing for a larger crowd.
In conjunction with the tour, Linkin Park has been documenting their journey through LPTV, their behind-the-scenes video series. The first episode, “From Zero: Part Of Something,” offers a glimpse into their September 5 global livestream from Los Angeles, which introduced fans to the new lineup as the second clip, showcases the making of the video for their latest single.
The return of Linkin Park has generated buzz, especially with rumors about the new singer. After speculation about Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley, the band ultimately confirmed Emily Armstrong as their new vocalist, leading the 2024 version of Linkin Park into a new era.
