Kerry King recently shared his thoughts on who would play him in a biopic. While answering fan questions in the latest issue of Metal Hammer, the legendary Slayer guitarist revealed Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is his top pick for who should portray him in a film.
King expressed:
“The only one that loosely fits the description is Vin Diesel. If you go down that road, you might also say The Rock but I’m not nearly that giant. That would be awesome, though. I’ll say The Rock, because I like a lot of the stuff he’s in.”
Let’s look at the resemblance:

The discussion arrived shortly after Slayer announced the launch of the group’s digital museum, Slaytanic Verses, offering fans an immersive dive into over forty years of their thrash metal legacy. The virtual museum features rare memorabilia, behind-the-scenes stories, and more, with regular updates planned. For further details on the digital museum go to this location.
As for Kerry King, the guitarist is gearing up for his first-ever headlining solo North American tour supporting his solo debut, From Hell I Rise. The trek kicks off on January 15, 2025 with support from Municipal Waste and Alien Weaponry.
King expressed his excitement:
“Getting back on the road for the first time in five years wasn’t exactly like riding a bike, that’s for sure. I’ve never had that much time off, but the first tours with my new band – in the UK and Europe, and then in America with Lamb of God and Mastodon – were all total blasts. We’ll be headlining on this next tour, so we’re playing a longer set than we did with Lamb of God and Mastodon. We’ve got a little bit of a learning curve, so will start rehearsing the first week of November. And we might put an extra Slayer song into the set and learn a cover song or two.”
King has also unleashed a Jim Louvau-directed video for the song “Where I Reign.”
