The February issue of Guitar World is a tribute to iconic Pantera/Damageplan guitarist Dimebag Darrell, timed in conjunction with the tenth anniversary of his death. As part of the special, they were invited into Dime’s home, where they were given a video tour of his home and studio. His room full of guitars, including his original mold of his Dean, will be of interest to any guitarist. But it’s when they show his house and studio when things get interesting. Like a metal Graceland, his place is tacky, gaudy, and awesome. There are Christmas light hanging all over the place, and he’s got a pair of bathrooms, in which one has “Slaytanic Shitter” written on it. His home studio is extremely impressive too, and actually featured a hookup to his car stereo so he could listen to the music in his car. In all, it’s a really nice glimpse into the life of an icon gone way too soon.
