April has arrived, which is closer to the arrival of Ghost’s forthcoming record, Skeletá, set for April 25th via Loma Vista Recordings. Welcoming the new month, the Swedish occult metallers have released a new webisode, Chapter 20: Arrival Of A Secret Agent, yesterday (1st). The latest installment in the band’s ongoing Chapters series expands the ever-growing Ghost tale, going beyond the music, tying into the upcoming feature film Rite Here Rite Now and the Sister Imperator comic book.
The episode follows former frontman Papa Emeritus IV, now Frater Imperator and head of the Ministry, as he struggles with his new role and develops an unhealthy fixation on his successor, Papa V Perpetua. New characters, including Mrs. Psaltarian and Judith, make their debut, hinting at new dynamics for the ongoing Ghost storyline. Papa V Perpetua was first introduced in the closing moments of the video for Satanized, the lead single from Skeletá.
