Baroness share surprisingly heavy “Morningstar”

Posted by on December 3, 2015

With Baroness’ Purple coming out in just a few weeks, the band have let loose a third song from the album. “Morningstar,” which kicks off the album, starts off with a riff that sounds straight out of the Mastodon playbook, and is perhaps the most aggressive beginning to one of their songs in years. Given the catchy “Shock Me” and the slow burn of “Chlorine & Wine,” this is adding up to be quite the record, and we can understand why it’s already making its way to some year-end lists, even though it’s not out until December 18th.

You can preorder the album here.
