Avenged Sevenfold hit “The Stage” with new song

After Chris Jericho’s unintentional reveal about a new Avenged Sevenfold album yesterday, not to mention the band’s guerilla marketing tactics, we knew something was in the works from the band. Today, the band released a new song and video, “The Stage.” Just looking at the length of the song, over eight minutes long, you can tell that it’s going to be epic. And epic it is. The video for the song plays out like a puppet show, with a group of people paying to see a play about the “Fantastical History of the World,” starting with cavemen killing each other and working its way up to the Vietnam war. We’re not going to give away the ending, but it’s kind of political. It’s actually kind of a great video.

Nothing else has been reveal;ed about the album, which might or might not be called Voltaic Oceans and be out on December 9th, but you can download the song here, or stream it on Spotify. The link suggests that they may have signed to Capitol Records.
