Last month, Evan Diprima announced his departure from Royal Thunder. The drummer revealed this news on his personal Instagram stating, “It was time for me to move on for my own reasons.” Last night (6), the group confirmed this news by making a public statement as well as announcing session drummer Kent Aberle would be manning the kit for the rest of their tour. We aren’t sure if this means he will have a full-time role with these Atlanta rockers just yet, or if it’s to fill in for their immediate planned touring schedule.
Royal Thunder shared the following statement:
“Spring and the season of change is here! As we are ramping up for our upcoming tour we are saying goodbye to our friend and previous drummer @evandiprima . We are thankful for all the amazing experiences that we shared and the hard work that he gave along side this band. All best wishes for him in future endeavors! We are excited to have the talented and seasoned player @kentaberle rock this tour with us!!! It’s been awesome rocking with him and we are very excited to see you all very soon on this upcoming tour!!! #royalthunder#nextchapter#rockandroll”
